The brains behind BIKEJACK
How a simple idea became a sustainable bike cover.
The Founders
We are Oliver & Michèle
In the autumn of 2020, we planned a trip with our e-bikes. To protect our bikes during transport on the towbar, we looked for bike covers online.
After several frustrating wrong purchases, we started our holiday without bicycle transport protection. However, the idea of a perfectly fitting cover did not let us go, so we said to ourselves:
"Let's try it ourselves!"
In November 2020, we made the first prototype – without any sewing experience, mind you. ;) A few prototypes later, we had the first BIKEJACK bike transport protection manufactured by a sewing factory, which remains our reliable partner to this day.
2021
In Search of the Perfect Fabric
In 2021, we invested a great deal of time and effort searching for a material that would meet our quality requirements for the perfect bicycle transport protection.
These intensive investigations clearly showed us a sad aspect – the issue of environmental pollution by the textile industry.
Since we have privately placed great importance on a healthy, plant-based diet for years to protect animals, our environment, and ourselves, it was clear to us: there must be another way.
We are very proud that with BIKEJACK – which consists of 75% recycled material – we are contributing to saving the oceans. ♥
Made in Europe
Reduction of CO₂ emissions
Our sustainable, recycled fabric from Italy is manufactured by hand under fair conditions with great attention to detail in a small factory. Here in Vienna, the BIKEJACK covers are individually checked, packaged, and shipped.
We place great importance on quality, sustainability, fair working conditions, and short transport routes. Therefore, it is important to us that our partner and production facilities are within easy reach.
Manufacturing in EU countries ensures that labor and environmental standards are respected. "Made in Europe" minimizes CO₂ emissions and guarantees high quality with social responsibility.
